Tackle Football
The North Penn Squires Fall Tackle Football Program is an intramural program for 2nd through 6th Grade athletes. Our goal is to provide a safe, fun, and competitive environment for players to develop football skills, teamwork, and sportsmanship.
Our Tackle teams participate in the ICFL (Inter County Football League). The Tackle Football season runs from early August through late October, with playoffs for grades 3–6 potentially extending into early November.
Practices
Practices begin in early August and are held at our fields on Hancock Road, across from Gwyn-Nor Elementary School.
Practice schedule:
-
August (Preseason / Heat Acclimation): Monday through Thursday, 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM
-
In-season: Tuesday through Thursday, 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM (practice times may vary by grade level)
Attendance at practice is critical for player safety, skill development, and team success. Please communicate with your coach if your player will miss a practice.
Heat Acclimation
North Penn Squires Football prioritizes proper conditioning during the summer months to ensure player safety.
Heat acclimation occurs throughout August, during which helmets and pads are gradually introduced and practice intensity is increased. Families are encouraged to schedule vacations outside of this period so players can safely adjust to full equipment and exertion.
Games
Games are typically scheduled on Saturdays or Sundays from September through late October. Most games are played at Squires Field, with away games typically within a 40-minute drive. The full game schedule is usually available in mid-to-late August.
Postseason:
Grades 3–6 participate in a playoff system, which may extend the season into early November.
