North Penn Squires – Flag Football, Tackle Football & Cheer

Registration for the 2026 Fall Season is opening soon! Please read all information carefully before completing registration.

Team Limits & Waitlist Notes

  • Flag Football: Maximum 40 players. This team will not be increased.

  • Tackle Football: Each grade is maxed at 25 players. If a waitlist reaches a viable size, we may consider forming a second team if enough coaches are available.

  • Cheer: Each grade has a different maximum. There is a slight possibility of increasing team sizes based on coaching availability.


Program Information

Flag Football

  • Grades: Incoming Kindergarten & 1st grade

  • Non-contact, introductory program to learn football skills, teamwork, and sportsmanship.

  • Focused on fun, skill development, and building confidence.

Tackle Football

  • Grades: 2nd – 6th

  • Full-contact football following USA Football guidelines, competing in the Inter County Football League (ICFL).

  • Practices at Hancock Road Field (across from Gwyn-Nor Elementary), games at Squires Field or local opponents.

  • Equipment provided: helmet, shoulder pads, pants, integrated padding. Families provide cleats, mouthpiece, athletic supporter, and protective cup.

Cheer

  • Grades: 2nd – 6th

  • Emphasizes teamwork, confidence, and athletic skills.

  • Teams perform at home games and selected events throughout the season.


Game-Day Football Jersey Information

We’re introducing reversible jerseys for the 2026 season!

  • Purpose: Reversible jerseys allow us to wear an alternate color for away games.

  • Cost: Covered by NPAA — no additional cost for families.

  • Registration Collection: Jersey numbers and sizes are collected during registration.

    • Newcomers & 2nd graders: Provide your top three (3) jersey number choices.

    • Returning players: Include your current jersey number and indicate if a new jersey is needed.

  • Deadline: All jersey numbers must be submitted by May 30 to ensure delivery before the first game.


Volunteer Requirement

To ensure our home game days run smoothly:

  • Complete three (3) volunteer shifts per season or submit a $300 volunteer opt-out fee.

  • Shifts may be completed before or after your child’s game.

  • Exemptions: Families who coach or pay the opt-out fee.

Volunteer opportunities include:

  • Chains

  • Scoreboard

  • Snack Stand

  • Field setup / close down

  • Crossing guard duties

  • Game Day 50/50 Sales

A Signup Genius will be sent once the game schedule is finalized (expected late August).


Required Documents

All families must upload a report card from any marking period of the 2025–2026 school year to verify grade eligibility.

  • Families outside the North Penn School District may submit a school letter confirming grade level.

  • Physicals: If your athlete’s physical is available and less than one year old, it can be uploaded during registration. Otherwise, it must be uploaded prior to equipment pick-up in July.

  • Registration can be completed without uploading a physical, but all required documents must be uploaded before equipment handout.

Communication, Key Dates & Next Steps

Once your athlete is registered with the North Penn Squires, here’s what you can expect as we prepare for the upcoming season.


Primary Communication: GameChanger

The North Penn Squires use GameChanger as our main form of communication throughout the season.

  • All families will receive an email invitation to GameChanger in July.

  • Please accept the invitation and download the GameChanger app, as this is where you will receive:

    • Team and organization updates

    • Practice and game information

    • Schedule changes

    • Event reminders and announcements

Important: GameChanger is the fastest and most reliable way to stay informed during the season and to communicate with others on your team.


Welcome Email from the President

As the season approaches, families will receive a welcome email from our President with important program-wide details, reminders, and next steps.


Key Dates to Know

While specific dates will be confirmed each season, families can expect the following general timeline:

  • Early July: Welcome email with season details

  • Mid-July: Equipment handout

  • Late July:

    • Future Knights Camp Honoring Richard Lawn 

    • Team clinics and preseason events

  • First week of August: Practices begin

  • Mid to late August: Summer Brawl scrimmage games (Tackle Football only)

  • Late August: Game schedules finalized

  • Labor Day Weekend: Regular season games begin

Families are encouraged to plan vacations and commitments with this timeline in mind.


Equipment Handout Overview

  • Equipment handout takes place in mid-July by assigned grade and program.

  • Registration must be paid in full before equipment is issued.

  • Equipment deposits are required and returned at the end of the season once all equipment is turned in.

  • Detailed instructions and assigned dates will be shared via GameChanger and email.

Families will be notified of:

  • Assigned equipment pickup date and time

  • Required documents (report card, physicals, etc.)

  • What equipment is provided vs. what families must supply


Practices & Scheduling

  • Practice schedules are determined by program, grade, and coaching staff.

  • Practice days and times will be communicated via GameChanger.

  • Teams may practice multiple days per week depending on the program and phase of the season.

  • Heat acclimation rules will be followed in accordance with league and safety guidelines.


Game Schedules

  • Game schedules are typically released in the third or fourth week of August.

  • Games are played on weekends at Squires Field or at ICFL opponent locations.

  • Travel is generally limited to approximately 50 minutes or less.


Events & Fundraisers

Throughout the season, families can expect additional events such as:

  • Fundraisers

  • Community nights

  • Team and organization-wide events

  • End-of-season celebrations

Dates and details will be shared through GameChanger and email as they are finalized.
